What: Kick Out the Clowns!

Where: Corner of Franklin and Columbia Streets in Chapel Hill (check in at this corner)

When: June 14, 2025, 11 - 1 pm. Rain or Shine!

Bring a sign that identifies your favorite clown or ridiculous thing that a clown has said or done.

Check in: at the south west corner of Franklin St. Look for the OVER-SIZED copy of the Preamble to the Constitution! Add your name to this document that declares WE THE PEOPLE, not one person, especially not a CLOWN, formed this democracy, and WE are determined to keep it that way!

NOTE: The first 100 people who sign the Preamble will receive a free pocket sized copy of the Constitution. Everyone will get a small Flag to add to their celebratory outfit on Flag Day.

Goal: Participants line Franklin St. (East and West) and Columbia St. (North and South) for at least one block in each direction.

Participants will be urged to wear red, white, and blue clown suits to emphasize the spirit of a citizens’ protest and to bring their signs, noise makers, etc. to enhance their positive and joyful energy and determination. Don your best clown nose and creative make-up and get ready to KICK OUT THE CLOWNS!

On June 14, Donald Trump will honor himself with a four-mile military parade in our nation’s capitol. Trump’s tacky parade was inspired by dictators he idolizes, and will cost taxpayers nearly $100 million.

Organizer and strategist Daniel Hunter has written that “Humor is important for our psyches — and to take fascists down a notch[…] Humor is key for morale and exposing the vulnerability of the strongman image.” This is where the ridiculous meets the resistance—and where the future is on the line.

June 14 is our chance to reflect the absurdity of the MAGA regime and the clowns who lead it. To meet this moment, Women’s March will host community circuses nationwide—bold, creative actions that mirror the chaos MAGA has sown across the country. Together, we’ll set a national record for the most circuses held in a single day while we simultaneously refuse to celebrate a petty clown who desperately wants to be seen as strong. We won’t stop until we build the country we all deserve.
